Thyroid Hormone Control

Thyroid Hormone Control

The thyroid is one of the key glands in the human body as it regulates metabolism, growth and body temperature through the hormones it secretes. Thyroid hormones, such as thyroxine (T4) and triiodothyronine (T3), play a crucial role in our health, and any disturbances in thyroid function can lead to hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism and other serious conditions. Therefore, early diagnosis through specialized tests is essential.
Our laboratory is equipped with the latest technology and specializes in thyroid hormone testing. With a focus on prevention and diagnosis, we offer reliable and accurate results in a short time, serving our patients with a high level of professionalism and care.
The Exams We Provide
In our laboratory we perform a wide range of tests related to thyroid function.

The basic tests include:

  1. TSH (Thyroid Stimulating Hormone) measurement: TSH is the hormone produced by the pituitary gland that stimulates the thyroid. It is the most common test for evaluating thyroid function.
  2. Measurement T4 (Thyroxine): this test helps to determine the level of thyroxine, which is the main thyroid hormone, but the one that we recommend to be measured for better control of the gland is the free form, FT4, as the whole form is bound to other proteins.
  3. T3 (Triiodothyronine) measurement: this test is useful for evaluating hyperthyroidism and other disorders.
  4.  Thyroid antibodies (Anti-TPO, Anti-Tg): used to detect autoimmune thyroid diseases such as Hashimoto's thyroiditis and Graves' disease.

Examination procedure

The procedure is simple and painless. After a small amount of blood is drawn, the samples are analysed in our laboratory using the latest generation of equipment. The results are delivered electronically or in paper form, accompanied by detailed explanations.
Information and Prevention
In our laboratory we do not limit ourselves to testing only. We offer consultation for the prevention and maintenance of thyroid health, proposing individualized solutions and management.
